Coraid and CommVault partner for data management and protection solutions
Feb 08, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
Coraid, a developer of ethernet storage solutions, has announced certification for its EtherDrive storage system with CommVault Simpana. The Coraid EtherDrive storage platform combined with CommVault's enterprise data management and protection software provides a backup solution that reportedly allows businesses to manage their data while keeping total costs under control.
The CommVault Simpana software platform offers capabilities such as multi-level deduplication, compression and centralized monitoring and control that allow administrators to tame the problem of data protection and archival in an environment of unchecked data growth.
Coraid EtherDrive storage arrays deliver true scale-out capabilities and provide an alternative to controller-based storage architectures, growing to multiple petabytes without forklift upgrades.
Coraid's EtherCloud automation platform enables software-defined storage, with one-click self-service and simplicity for multiple application types.
"Coraid offers a flexible storage platform that complements the powerful capabilities of our market-leading CommVault Simpana software platform by delivering simplicity at scale," said Jeff Echols, senior director product marketing and business development at CommVault. "By deploying a solution using CommVault and Coraid products, customers can protect their most critical information at scale."
"CommVault and Coraid complement each other perfectly for organizations that need a scalable, comprehensive, cost-effective approach to data protection," said Doug Dooley, vice president of product management at Coraid. "Advanced data management paired with a scale-out, flexible storage infrastructure ensures data growth can be managed effectively. A joint solution with CommVault and Coraid demonstrates the flexibility and power of an open system architecture."
