BRIEF: Comcast launches free mobile security app
Feb 08, 2013 (Boston Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Comcast said today it has launched a new app to help prevent online threats to consumer's mobile devices.
Constant Guard Mobile helps to protect consumers from phishing attempts, identity theft and connecting to fraudulent websites and is available to Xfinity Internet customers for no additional charge, company officials said.
The app also provides a function called Constant Guard Safe Search, which proactively warns customers if a website is considered risky or unsafe, and could potentially be a source of malware.
The app can also be downloaded to iOS devices from the Apple iTunes store. An Android version is planned to launch in the coming months, officials said.
