iNTERFACEWARE's IGUANA Receives ONC-ACB Certification by Drummond Group as a Modular EHR
TORONTO --(Business Wire)--
iNTERFACEWARE,
a software provider committed to simplifying healthcare integration,
today announced that its IGUANA healthcare integration
engine was tested and certified as a Modular EHR on January 10, 2013
by Drummond Group, Inc. iNTERFACEWARE's solution is compliant in
accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services, and meets the criteria for the
Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers
and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment
Act.
Drummond Group's ONC-ACB certification program certifies that Electronic
Health Records (EHRs) meet the meaningful use criteria for either
eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers
using certified EHR systems are qualified to receive federal stimulus
monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology - a key
component of the federal government's push to improve clinical care
delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S.
healthcare providers.
IGUANA 5.5, which met the requirements for EHR Modular certification,
enables hospitals and healthcare providers to integrate disparate
systems including EMRs, EHRs, HISs and PACs. With iNTERFACEWARE,
organizations can seamlessly transfer critical electronic information
without replacing existing technologies. It also connects legacy
healthcare systems and emerging technologies such as cloud comuting,
enabling organizations to develop, test, deploy and monitor healthcare
interfaces with a single web-based interface.
"As a result of the focus on EHRs and meaningful use, healthcare
organizations are under increased pressure to adopt new technologies. To
gain the maximum value from these systems, integration is critical,"
said Eliot Muir, CEO, iNTERFACEWARE. "The Drummond Group's ONC-ACB
approval validates IGUANA's role in the healthcare ecosystem as a key
component of successful integration and deployment."
"Leveraging information technology for healthcare initiatives provides
the opportunity to deliver a high-level quality of care and efficiency
which essentially benefits and enhances the overall patient experience,"
says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group Inc. "We have been testing
software for more than a decade and will continue to provide our
extensive experience testing and certifying complex systems for multiple
industries, as well as ensuring interoperability and security remain key
components in the growing healthcare industry."
iNTERFACEWARE's IGUANA 5.5 is 2011-edition compliant and has been
certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification
criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the
receipt of incentive payments. IGUANA 5.5 was certified on January 10
for the EHR module and its certification number is 01102013-1751-1. No
clinical quality measures or additional software was used as part of the
certification process. Modules certified include 170.302 O, Q, R, S,
T, V.
