Verdasys Announces Advanced Data Protection Support for Citrix ShareFile

Verdasys, provider of Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) solutions including data protection managed services for global 2000 and mid-sized companies, has announced support for Citrix ShareFile in its Digital Guardian Enterprise Information Protection Platform. Digital Guardian® extends the ShareFile security model with unique data classification, data event monitoring and flexible data controls, including file encryption, protecting data across the enterprise. Digital Guardian with ShareFile delivers advanced data loss prevention (DLP), data usage control, mobility and collaboration to organizations in highly regulated businesses, government and intellectual property-centric industries.

Citrix�ShareFile�is an enterprise follow-me data solution that allows users to sync and share data from any device. Digital Guardian is a scalable and extensible data security platform that monitors, classifies, controls and encrypts sensitive information on desktops, laptops, servers, virtual environments and mobile devices. Digital Guardian is capable of classifying data based on content, context and/or user input, tagging files accordingly -- a data-centric approach which allows for differentiatedpolicies that provide effective controls, without breaking business processes. With Digital Guardian support for ShareFile, enterprises can, for example, see users moving data to unapproved media such as personal cloud storage (e.g. Dropbox (News - Alert)), USB sticks, and CD/DVDs and can block and redirect these data movements to ShareFile as appropriate.

Digital Guardian utilizes end point agents to enforce data access control policies using multiple mechanisms including user warnings and blocking, as well as encryption. Digital Guardian's enterprise key management capabilities enable information to be transparently encrypted and decrypted as it is used in normal business processes. Encryption ensures that sensitive data is secure once out of ShareFile, on an end user device and beyond.

Sensitive files copied to ShareFile can be transparently encrypted by Digital Guardian based on classification-driven policies. Users can access encrypted files transparently on environments with a Digital Guardian agent, including:

• Windows desktop, laptops, servers
• Citrix XenApp delivered applications
• Citrix XenDesktop virtual desktops
• Mobile devices (e.g. iOS)

If a user moves information to an unauthorized environment, Digital Guardian ensures it is encrypted and cannot be accessed.
