Chile's Ministry of Education to Integrate Vitamina Web-Based Instruction from Adaptive Curriculum into Online Education Portal
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. --(Business Wire)--
Beginning this year, middle and high school students across Chile will
be able to take advantage of high-quality math and science content to
extend classroom learning beyond the school day and deepen their
understanding of core concepts and skills. The Ministry of Education has
chosen to add Adaptive Curriculum's Vitamina,
a Spanish instructional solution developed specifically for Latin
America, to YoEstudio,
a free, content-based portal for Chilean students in grades 1-12.
Arizona-based Adaptive
Curriculum and Aulanova,
a division of Videocorp., a leader in the audiovisual market in Latin
America, have partnered with the Chilean Ministry of Education to
integrate 200 instructional units, called Activity Objects, from
Vitamina into the portal for the next three years. The Vitamina concept
mastery solution for math and science will be available to teachers and
students for use at school, at home, or anywhere with an Internet
connection.
"In Chile, like in the United States, many students struggle with math
and science because they don't understand the concepts that underlie
these sometimes complicated subjects. Vitamina strengthens math and
science performance by helping students build a deep understanding of
core concepts and skills," said Jim Bowler, CEO of Adaptive Curriculum.
"Adaptive Curriculum is an international leader in the field of
interactive math and science learning because our solutions are informed
by the latest research, pedagogy and best practices. We're pleased to
make our award-winning content available through the YoEstudio portal to
engage Chilean students in active learning and to emphasize real-world
connections to make difficult concepts easier to understand."
Designed for grades 6-12, Vitamina engages digital-age learners by
integrating real-world scenarios, cutting-edge graphics and interactive
simulations into active, standards-based learning. Unlike textbooks or
drill-and-practice programs, Vitamina's active learning approach
motivates learners to explore, make hypotheses, manipulate items and see
the impact of their decisions, thereby developing and deepening their
understanding.
