'The Doctors' to Feature the Tru-D SmartUVC Hospital Disinfection Robot on January 14

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- THE DOCTORS, an Emmy Award winning, nationally syndicated talk show covering the latest and hottest medical trends invited the Tru-D corporate team to the CBS studios in Hollywood for a featured on-air appearance. The show will air nationally on January 14th.

The Doctors series is co-hosted by a 'dream team' of medical professionals: emergency room physician Travis Stork, pediatrician Jim Sears, obstetrician/gynecologist Lisa Masterson, and plastic surgeon Andrew Ordon. The on-air panel discusses important health and medical issues with special emphasis on the reduction of dangerous hospital acquired infections.

The Tru-D SmartUVC system, as pointed out by The Doctors panel, eliminates human error and provides consistent, repeatable disinfection outcomes. Hospitals cleanliness is a major topic as contamination in patient rooms, intensive care units and operating rooms cause unnecessary sickness and infection that often results in longer... and more costly... hospital stays.

Producers for The Doctors show are tasked with finding evidence-based products and services to support healthcare topics being discussed. After weeks of research and recommendation from leading infection control preventionists, the Tru-D corporate team was invited to the CBS studios. "We are very excited to showcase Tru-D's automated, advanced germicidal disinfection capabilities to our healthcare partners. Tru-D is an important tool to improve patient outcomes," said Tru-D spokesman Chuck Dunn.

The Doctors airs weekdays on CBS-affiliated stations. The hour-long daytime program is distributed globally by CBS Television Distribution.

Tru-D is an automated room disinfection system that uses SmartUVC(TM) to accurately measure and deliver the lethal UV dose required to break apart the DNA of bacteria, virus and spores and render them harmless.

For Tru-D information, please call 800-774-5799 to speak to Chuck Dunn, or go to for published clinical studies.
