Dec 31, 2012 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) -- Below are the three companies in the Computer Hardware industry with the highest Revenue Per Employee (RPE). Analysts use RPE as a measure to compare the productivity of companies in the same industry.Apple ranks highest with a an RPE of $3.4 million. Super Micro Computer is next with a an RPE of $837,000. Dell ranks third highest with a an RPE of $568,000.

Silicon Graphics International follows with a an RPE of $511,000, and Stratasys rounds out the top five with a an RPE of $453,000.
