Consortium of investors sells Credant Technologies to Dell

Dec 21, 2012 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Credant Technologies, Inc. has been acquired by Dell, Inc., a manufacturer of desktop PCs, servers, networking products, software and peripherals. Both the companies are based in the US.

Credant Technologies is a provider of data protection solutions to control, manage and secure data sent from endpoints to servers, storage and the cloud.

Earlier, Credant Technologies had secured venture funding from Crescendo Venture Management, LLP., Austin Ventures, Menlo Ventures and Intel Capital.

Announcement (December 18, 2012): Credant has been agreed to be acquired by Dell.

The addition of Credant strengthens Dell's security solutions that enable organizations of all sizes to protect their IT assets, comply with regulations and reduce security costs.
