alfabet Positioned Again as a "Leader" in the Gartner Magic Quadrant 2012 For Integrated IT Portfolio Analysis
BERLIN --(Business Wire)--
alfabet Positioned Again as a "Leader" in the Gartner (News - Alert) Magic
Quadrant 2012 alfabet,
a leading provider of strategic IT planning and Business IT Management
solutions, today announced that Gartner, Inc., the world's leading
information technology research and advisory company, positioned alfabet
for the second straight year in the Leaders Quadrant of its report "Magic
Quadrant 2012 for Integrated IT Portfolio Analysis" by Daniel B.
Stang and Jim Duggan, published on 28 November, 2012. Out of all 11
participating vendors, alfabet is positioned furthest right on the
"Completeness of Vision" axis.
According to Gartner "the IIPA software market helps IT managers link,
monitor and analyze their activities within a singular IT portfolio.
This provides CIOs and other executives with holistic information about
the IT portfolio when making difficult decisions and determining the
state of their IT strategies."
"There is an increasing awareness of the strategic role an
organization's IT portfolio plays in business. Especially in times of
tight budgets, right decisions about where to invest or divest are vital
for businesses globally," said Erik Masing, CEO and co-founder of
alfabet. "We consider our positioning in the Leaders Quadrant for the
second time now as repeated confirmation from Gartner of our ability to
provide a platform for IT and business decision-makers to make those
critical decisions with confidence."
Use an integrated portfolio management approach to maximize business
value
Today's IT leaders are focused on maximizing business value when making
investment decisions. A portfolio approach helps them to better link and
understand the interdependent perspectives of IT, business, finance and
risk. With its flagship product, planningIT®, alfabet
provides a core set of portfolio management capabilities. These support
independent portfolio decision-making, portfolio-level strategy
modelling and the rationalization needs of the roles managing these
various facets of IT. In turn, this enables stakeholders to interface,
communicate and consider multiple perspectives when making IT decisions,
confident that they have accurate, current and complete information on
which to take well-founded and sustainable decisions.
Ultimately, an integrated IT portfolio solution is more than the sum of
its parts. By automating the corresponding management processes it
becomes a highly useful collaboration platform for the CIO and his or
her colleagues - enabling management of the suite of technology
investments to achieve maximum business value. alfabet provides
organizations with the methodological and technological underpinning
that allows currency, integrity and completeness of information.
