Dataworks Development Releases Freezerworks Basic 7.0

Dataworks Development, Inc. announces the release of a major new upgrade, version 7.0, to its Freezerworks Basic freezer inventory and sample management software program.

Freezerworks Basic helps research and clinical laboratories, biobanks and repositories keep track of their specimen inventories, from sample entry to labeling, reporting and removal. The program includes bar code labeling for general lab as well as cryogenic environments. Its empowering configurability features have long been a trademark of the product.

Version 7.0 provides users with a more powerful engine that easily handles millions more records, along with an enhanced graphical interface that offers increased flexibility when entering and moving aliquots. Also, new more powerful search functionalities make it easier to locate records.

"We wanted to give our customers an upgraded interface that not only improves the user configurability of the program, but is also even easier to use," explained Cheryl Michels, President and Lead Developer at Dataworks Development. "We focused on really listening to our customers' feedback and incorporating their requests into this new version. Adding popular features such as right click functionality and freezer icture views that are currently available in our Freezerworks Unlimited product will enhance the Basic user's experience while maintaining the product's more affordable price point."

Also new to Freezerworks Basic 7.0 is the ability to view freezer boxes during the sample entry process, with color coding of aliquots for helpful visual clues. Freezer sections allow for even more flexibility in keeping different racking systems together within the same freezer structure. In tandem with this new configuration ability, users can continue to take advantage of sample batch entry and removal through the CLIP function, designed for the clinical lab that needs to quickly store and discard hundreds to thousands of samples daily.

Freezerworks Basic version 7.0 was developed and validated according to the FDA Guidelines for Software Development.
