Clickatell's New "Connect API" Allows Developers to Embed Customer-Configurable SMS Messaging Into Apps
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
Clickatell (News - Alert), a leading
mobile messaging provider, today announced its new "Connect API"
(application-programming interface) designed to allow software
developers to easily embed short-message service (SMS), account creation
and management functionality into their applications while keeping their
customers in the application's user interface.
The Connect
API helps developers to get end users up and running with
Clickatell's global SMS messaging services with low friction for use in
reminder, update or marketing services. Developers also avoid typical
messaging reseller responsibilities and licensing as the billing for
messaging is managed by Clickatell directly with the end user.
Additionally, Clickatell alleviates support responsibilities for
messaging services by handling all inquiries with the end users directly.
Through the XML-based Connect API, developers are able to embed the
ability for an end user to register for a new Clickatell account,
activate the account, configure an API for the account, manage the
account, purchase credits for the account, purchase two way messaging
capabilities and monitor account status.
