Jolla Unveils Mobile OS Sailfish
BEIJING, Nov 22, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) --
Jolla, a company newly-established by the former R&D team of MeeGo system of Nokia Corporation (NYSE: NOK), unveiled the user interface of its Sailfish mobile operating system and the latest software development kit (SDK) on November 21.
Jolla also reached a cooperation agreement with Finland's mobile operator DNA on the same day.
Jolla vice president said that to succeed in overseas markets, the company needed to make a hit in domestic market first. The company also stated that it was developing mobile phone chips together with ST-Ericsson.
It is said that Jolla has obtained EUR 10 million investments from a private consortium and hopes to make a success in Asia, especially in mainland China.
