DrFirst and Halfpenny Technologies Announce Partnership to Provide CPOE and Results Delivery Capabilities
ROCKVILLE, Md. & BLUE BELL, Pa. --(Business Wire)--
DrFirst, the nation's leading e-prescribing and solutions platform
provider, and Halfpenny Technologies, the nation's leading CPOE
technology provider for labs and radiology today announced a partnership
to embed Halfpenny's ITF (Integrated Technology Framework) within
DrFirst's Rcopia e-prescribing platform.
The ITF Platform for CPOE and Results Delivery is part of Halfpenny's
Meaningful Use Tool Kit. For DrFirst, Halfpenny is delivering a
cloud-based software toolset that provides e-prescribing solution
providers like DrFirst as well as electronic health record (EHR) vendors
out-of-the-box CPOE and results delivery capabilities that can be
rapidly and seamlessly embedded within their workflow and graphical user
interface (GUI).
This partnership will allow DrFirst clinical providers to easily
navigate to a section of the Rcopia e-prescribing platform and request
connectivity to their local or national lab. Halfpenny facilitates the
connection between the lab and the Halfpenny ITF-Hub infrastructure so
that orders placed in the Rcopia solution are delivered to the lab
electronically and results are then delivered back into Rcopia when
completed.
"We are delighted to be partnering with Halfpenny Technologies to
provide our Rcopia customers CPOE, lab, and radiology results delivery
capabilities," said G. Cameron Deemer, president of DrFirst, Inc. "This
partnership allows a doctor to create lab orders and receive lab results
in a more efficient manner tat allows them quicker access to data. The
functionality provided by Halfpenny fills a void for many providers who
are looking to adopt additional IT functionality that will allow them to
participate in government incentive programs includingMeaningful Use
Stage 2."
Tim Kowalski, Halfpenny Technologies' president & CEO commented, "We are
pleased to be partnering with DrFirst and integrating with their
industry leading solution. With the finalization of MU2 requirements,
the deadline for labs and clinical content vendors to meet these
requirements is quickly approaching. Our robust and time-proven
Meaningful Use Tool Kit uniquely enables labs and EHR vendors to solve
the MU2 challenge without diverting their internal resources from other
mission critical initiatives with a cost-effective and technologically
robust approach. With DrFirst we are jointly solving this MU2 challenge
for a broad base of the provider community."
