Cuadra Associates Announces Release of STAR Version 5.2
LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)--
Cuadra Associates, Inc. (Cuadra), a leading provider of knowledge
management software products, has just released STAR (News - Alert) 5.2. The new
release includes enhancements to STAR Web, the browser-based interface
to STAR, and features designed to make it easier to manage STAR systems.
The enhancements to STAR Web allow customers to implement their own
completely browser-based applications using STAR Web. STAR Web is the
platform for Cuadra's highly successful STAR Knowledge Center for
Archives and STAR Knowledge Center for Libraries products. Up until now,
customers that wanted to develop their own applications only had access
to a limited set of STAR Web capabilities. With this release, they now
have access to the same functionality that Cuadra designers used in
creating the STAR Knowledge Center products, including the development
of tasks, the lunching of pre-defined batch operations, (e.g., to
change values in existing records, delete data, copy data), the creation
of data entry forms that support repeating fields and dynamic validation
of terms, and pages that provide for browsing the collection as well as
searching and generating reports.
STAR 5.2 also provides authorized customers with additional information
about the resources that are in use at their STAR site, and new
functionality for managing and scheduling batch tasks-including new ways
to generate data for RSS feeds.
"The customers we've spoken with are excited about the new
capabilities," said Phillip Green, Cuadra's COO. "The new features build
on the set of software tools that Cuadra customers have long depended on
to manage their own systems."
