BRIEF: Succession planning workshop topic

Succession planning is the subject of a two-part workshop scheduled in Enterprise in November and December.
The Northeast Oregon Economic Development District-sponsored event, called "Ties to the Land," is for the owners of family farms, ranches and forestlands who want to preserve their legacy. A mix of presentations and practical exercises will provide participants with knowledge and tools and start succession planning.
Topics covered include challenges of succession planning, legal and financial instruments, clarifying values and goals, holding effective family meetings, and meeting with professionals who can help
finalize a plan.
The workshop is scheduled 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 17 and Dec. 1, at Community Connection in Enterprise, 702 NW First St.
Cost is $50 for a first person and $10 for each additional person from the same family or farm. The workbook costs $25.
