Icron Technologies to Unveil USB 3.0 Extender System at VISION 2012

Oct 31, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Icron Technologies Corp., a provider of USB and KVM extension technology, announced it will launch its USB 3.0 extender at VISION 2012 International Trade Fair in Stuttgart, Germany on November 6.

According to a release, incorporating Icron's patented ExtremeUSB technology, the USB 3.0 SP3022 supports USB throughput up to 5Gbps and extends USB 3.0 up to 100 meters and beyond over multimode fiber optics. The USB 3.0 SP3022 is a two port USB extender that works with all major computer operating systems, does not require software drivers, features a 2-year warranty and will be AIA USB3 Vision compliant upon the standard's release.

The USB 3.0 SP3022 is ideal for Machine Vision and security camera applications; including the new emerging class of high-definition USB3.0 cameras from camera manufacturers such as IDS Image Development Systems GmbH.

"USB 3.0 as a high-speed interface combined with the new generation of CMOS sensors enable IDS to deliver another milestone in industrial imaging resolutions," said Torsten Wiesinger, IDS CEO. "The issue with USB 3.0 has been the ability to extend the camera placement beyond ten meters. Icron's new USB 3.0 SP3022 allows our customers the flexibility to position our high-resolution USB 3.0 cameras 100 meters away from the source computer." "Complementing our industry leading USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 extender solutions, our new USB 3.0 extender, the SP3022 enables versatility not previously afforded USB3.0 camera placement in machine vision and security applications," said Robert Haefling, Icron Technologies President & CEO.
