M2M an area for us to take the lead

Oct 08, 2012 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- One of the world's first dual-band networks, based on Chinese superfast mobile technology, will be launched by Singtel Optus in 2013. Qualcomm's John Stefanac sees the network as a good opportunity for Australia to take a leading position in machine-to-machine communications. Debate about communications tends to centre on the $A37.4 billion national broadband network, and to overlook the fast uptake of mobile technology by Australians and the country's advanced mobile networks.
