Telit Wireless Solutions introduces DE910-DUAL Mini PCIe card

Oct 05, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Telit Wireless Solutions, a provider of machine-to-machine, or M2M, modules and value-added services, has announced the introduction of DE910-DUAL Mini PCIe card for commercial and industrial computer markets.

The mini PCIe form factor has become a popular standard adopted by connected device manufacturers to integrate wireless connectivity into their devices. North America's first full-featured EV-DO mini PCIe modem, supports 3.1Mbps downlink rates and 1.8Mbps uplink rates, the company said.

In addition, it is fully compatible with its HSPA plus counterpart, the HE910 Mini PCIe providing connected device makers maximum range of options for cellular operator support with one product design.

Equipped with a multi-constellation GPS plus GLONASS receiver, the DE910-DUAL Mini PCIe card provides navigation coverage in harsh environments and challenging urban canyons, making it ideally suited for devices such as mobile computers, mobile resource management (MRM) terminals, digital signage, and point of sale devices.

Telit's DE910-DUAL Mini PCIe includes features such as extended operating temperature range and Rx diversity which allows the end-device to be equipped with two distinct cellular antennas improving the quality and reliability of the wireless connectivity in urban areas, undergrounds, and other similar scenarios, and making the product ideal for applications such as wireless backup for DSL modems and gateways.

Fully voice capable, the DE910 mini PCIe provides full-duplex PCM input and output (not available through the mini PCIe edge connector) for applications such as voice gateways, fleet management and rugged phones. For easy integration, the product includes device drivers for most Windows platforms, Linux and Android and, is available for all major CDMA carriers and partner networks in North America, the company added.

"The DE910-DUAL-Mini PCIe is the second in a line of products for the connected device industry, which will allow OEMs to more easily integrate cellular into their remote devices that already have PCIe connectors," said Mike Ueland, vice president and general manager at Telit Wireless Solutions.

"The Telit DE910-DUAL Mini PCI is unique in its support of rugged environmental and industrial specifications, enabling OEMs to gain critical information and control over their remote devices in harsh environments." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
