Novatel Wireless introduces new mobile hotspot with touchscreen displayOct 02, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Novatel Wireless, Inc, a provider of wireless solutions, has unveiled its next-generation MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, a mobile hotspot with a touchscreen display. MiFi 2 introduces a new user interface based on a 2.8-inch multi-touch interactive color display, letting users control the MiFi device with the touch of a finger. MiFi 2 provides an accelerometer which ensures that users can hold the device however they like and the touchscreen display will adjust automatically. The features and functionality of MiFi 2 are showcased by icons that allow users to discover and interact with the capabilities of MiFi 2 for almost any use case, such as data usage, on-board shared storage, the MiFi Media Center and location based services. MiFi 2 also has a new DLNA-certified Media Center which allows users to enjoy and share their movies, music, presentations and photos stored on microSD cards on connected devices. A user can simply upload photos from their camera to MiFi 2 using a microSD card and start showing them on any DLNA-enabled television or compatible devices. MiFi 2 has a new architecture and firmware developed by Novatel Wireless that optimizes the performance indicators for users. By advancing the technology at the core of the MiFi architecture, MiFi 2 empowers users with up to 11 hours of usage time, even while streaming live video. Novatel Wireless has incorporated a power management conscious embedded agent in the MiFi 2 that automatically enhances the user experience and extends battery life.
