Jan 12, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
Cabinet NG (CNG), a provider of document management and workflow management software, has announced the latest version of its browser-based document management interface.
CNG said that CNG-Web 8.1 offers new functionality and user customization, bringing a highly efficient web-based document management solution to PC, laptop and tablet users. CNG-Web gives users secure access to their documents in CNG-Safe while they are traveling, visiting a customer, or working late from home. Users have access to their documents or information any time, from anywhere, as long as they have a computer with a browser and Internet connection.
"CNG-Web lets me remain engaged when I am out of the office. I can access documents and other information I have filed in CNG-Safe and approve workflow items. The dashboard's scheduling feature gives me a good top level view of my activities and the new document type and status icons are instantly recognizable and help me improve efficiency," said Marc Menowitz, President, Menowitz Management, a New York-based real estate management company.
In a release, the Company noted key features of CNG-Web 8.1 include:
Dashboard - The dashboard page presents users with a single page summary of recently accessed folders and documents, documents they have checked out, workflow information and scheduled items. Each panel can be resized or hidden to the user's liking and all custom dashboard settings are retained for future use. The dashboard page gives users a summary at a glance and serves as the launching point for navigation to areas of specific interest.
Scheduling - On the heels of the introduction to scheduling in CNG-Safe, the same capability is now built directly into CNG-Web. Users can manage documents and folders with ease and efficiency. Tablet aware - CNG-Web automatically detects iPad and Android based tablets and presents a touch user interface. Interface elements are resized for finger navigation accuracy and commands that are not applicable to a touch device are automatically removed.
User efficiency and ease of use enhancements - Further interface customization and simplification is available by enabling or disabling individual columns and controlling column location, width and sort order. New icons offer instant graphical recognition of the document's type and status. Icons streamline the interface while improving user efficiency when viewing lists of documents. With browser usage at an all-time high, CNG-Web's new scanning interface makes PC/laptop browser scanning a breeze.
"CNG-Web provides clients the freedom to be productive from anywhere there is an Internet connection, using a PC/laptop or tablet device. In today's business environments, this translates to a strong advantage over the competition. We are pleased to offer such a powerful feature set to an expanding browser user community," said Andrew Bailey, president, CNG.
