Philips Speech Processing: Latest Version of SpeechControl Software Compatible with Apple ComputersNov 16, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Philips Speech Processing, a manufacturer of mobile and stationary dictation systems, has announced the availability of its new SpeechControl4Mac software, which will allow users to integrate Philips' SpeechMike with Mac operating systems. The SpeechControl software enables users to configure their SpeechMike dictation microphone to personal specifications for an enhanced dictation experience, the Company noted in a release. "With the growing popularity of Apple products and speech recognition in corporate environments, we realized companies need to be able to integrate the two systems easily and seamlessly, with future-proof software that will maintain its integrity over the years," said Wolfgang Spannlang, product manager at Philips Speech Processing. "At Philips, we pride ourselves on exceeding our users' preferences and needs so they have the best possible experience with voice technology. We also pride ourselves on making the most flexible software available, and giving users the ability to connect with Mac computers is the latest way we are fulfilling those commitments." Similar to its Windows counterpart, Philips SpeechControl4Mac software fully integrates with Dragon Dictate 2.5 for Mac and most Dragon Dictate commands can be used on the first pass through. Additionally, the software allows users to configure the SpeechMike III to personal working style settings and change the buttons to personal preferences for ease of use. In addition, Philips said that SpeechControl for Mac operating systems features include two recording modes for friendly operation: record toggle or push-to-talk; and the ability to switch from Mac to Windows operating software with the click of a button. SpeechControl4Mac is compatible with the entire SpeechMike line, but it was specifically designed for SpeechMike III - the latest in the line of dictation microphones, which was ergonomically designed with an anti-microbial casing to help minimize the risk of spreading bacteria and infection.
