Sales of LED TVs in China May Surpass 18mn 2011


BEIJING, Nov 11, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- It is anticipated that sales volume of LED TVs may surpass 18 million in the full year of 2011, according to 2011-2012 Trend Report for TV Consumption in China jointly released by the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (CECC) and GOME.



The report showed that during the first ten months of 2011, LED TV sales accounted for as much as 49% of the total in the nation; LED TV will basically replace ordinary LCD TV in urban market in the following year.

Meanwhile, it is indicated that since domestic enterprises launched IPTVs (Internet Protocol Televisions) with network function in 2009. More than half of the TVs in the market have been equipped with network function after nearly three years' development.


In terms of 3D TV, it is predicted that 3D will become a function of standard configuration for large-sized flat-panel TVs by the year 2012, whose sales will make up 50% of the total. By far, there have been as many as over 160 3D TV models in the market although the products of the same kind debuted in Chinese market just two years ago.
