BRIEF: Phishing incidents on Azerbaijani Internet segment fall by 2.26 percent


Jun 20, 2011 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- JUNE 20 / , Azerbaijan, Baku -- The actual number of phishing incidents in the AzNET segment from May 10 fell by 2.26 percent, the Netcraft analytical company reported/ According to Netcraft, one productive phishing attack occurs on every 926 websites in the .az domain. This is done to get money or personal information under one pretext or another.



The analysis is based on the Netcraft Toolbar program, which is a module for browsers Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. The program warns about potentially harmful online resources, as well as the fact that phishing attacks are prevented.

Netcraft Toolbar installed on 2,779 PCs in Azerbaijan, or 64 units less than the situation at the end of the first decade of May.


Phishing attack is carried out through mass e-mails on behalf of popular brands.
