Ceelox Earns Compatible with Windows 7 Logo for Vault Flash Drive

Mar 24, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Ceelox announced that the company's patented Vault Flash Drive software for file and folder encryption has earned the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo for the new operating system.

This logo indicates that Microsoft has deemed the product compatible and reliable with Windows 7.

Ceelox has redesigned their authentication approach to leverage the recent capability of Windows 7. As recognized by Microsoft, biometrics is an increasingly popular technology that provides convenient access to systems, services, and resources. Biometrics relies on measuring an unchanging physical characteristic of a person to identify that person. Fingerprints are one of the most frequently used biometric characteristics, with millions of fingerprint biometric devices that are embedded in personal computers and peripherals.

To enable Ceelox Vault functionality in Windows 7, Ceelox made the modifications necessary to ensure compatibility. Ceelox Vault offers a File Manager-like interface with shortcut links to My Documents and Desktop and allows for the automated synchronization of files located on the portable flash drive. Vaults can be created by multiple users who may share a device, each with unique biometric access to the stored data. Encryption of the data insures that when the flash drive is removed from the laptop or desktop the data cannot be accessed. To encrypt or decrypt, users simply drag and drop the file and folder to or from the Ceelox Vault application. User authentication and Vault access control is provided with a live fingerprint scan. Ceelox Vault offers a variety of user rich preferences that can be modified to fit one's personal security standards. Never before has the process of encrypting sensitive files and folders been easier or more secure.

"By working with Windows 7, Ceelox can now offer our Vault product across multiple Microsoft platforms e.g. Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7," said Gerry Euston, CEO, Ceelox. "Through the use of a fingerprint, Ceelox Vault provides an easy way to secure data on an external flash drive. A user can transport the data with peace-of-mind knowing that no one can access their data." Ceelox is a developer of biometric security and encryption software solutions for financial institutions, healthcare companies, utilities, government agencies and other organizations for whom information access are key concerns.
