AMAX Releases Line of New Generation OEM Platform Solutions for Appliance-Based Software DeploymentsMar 24, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- AMAX, a provider of OEM appliance manufacturing and computing solutions, announced the release of its AMAX AH-1102 and AH-1103 1U uniprocessor appliance solutions based on the exceptional performance capabilities of AMD's latest multi-core processing technology to scale with increasing workloads. According to AMAX, the new purpose-built systems round out the portfolio of AMAX OEM appliance platforms, providing ISVs and networking, security, storage, cloud computing, and database application developers a variable range of turnkey solutions with greater performance and power efficiency. The AH-1102 platform is designed from the ground up to handle the most demanding server workloads utilizing the lowest power consumption. The new system is equipped with a single AMD Opteron 4100 Series processor featuring 6-cores and dual channel DDR3 memory. The AH-1102 is the lowest power-per-core short depth appliance on the market, saving as much as 40 percent energy and is ideal for compact, high-density deployments. The AH-1103 platform harnesses the high-performance capacity of the 12-core AMD Opteron 6100 Series processor to tackle larger, increasingly complex and multi-threaded environments such as virtualization, database, and web serving. The AH-1103 delivers the best performance-per-core-per-watt platform and features quad channel DDR3 memory and up to 12 DIMMs per CPU for the highest available memory bandwidth.
