BurstPoint Networks Launches Advisory Council

Mar 24, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- BurstPoint Networks announced the appointment of Steve Miller, chairman and CEO of Highwinds, Rob Scott, senior VP and worldwide general manager of Halo Collaboration at HP Corporate, and Terry Gordon, director, multimedia technology services at MetLife, to the company's newly established Advisory Council.

The formation of the Council closely follows the naming of William Seifert, CTO of Avaya Data Solutions at Avaya, to the BurstPoint Board of Directors, providing BurstPoint with access to industry knowledge and experience that can be used to shape the video communications company's strategic vision.

"Streaming video has proven its value as a consumer-focused technology, and with its growing adoption at the corporate level, businesses better understand its worth," said Miller. "The next step is securely delivering that rich content to a wide variety of users, both inside and outside the corporate firewall." Each member of the Advisory Council brings expertise in various areas of importance to BurstPoint and will help the company identify and respond to the industry trends that are driving the adoption of rich media as a corporate communications tool. Their input into areas including evolution of the marketplace, technology and partnerships, as well as feedback on new features and benefits, will help shape the direction of the BurstPoint Video Communication Platform and ensure it continues to meet the needs of customers employing video communications as a critical corporate initiative.

"These three executives each bring their experiences and perspectives to the BurstPoint Advisory Council," said Tom Racca, president and CEO, BurstPoint Networks. "By sharing their industry insights and deep understanding of end-user requirements, they will provide us with superb advice and counsel as we continue to focus on helping our customers achieve maximum benefit from enterprise video communications." BurstPoint Networks is a provider of solutions that transfer the way organizations use video to communicate with employees, customers, partners, and other key constituents.
