Amazon plans Kindle App for new BlackBerry PlayBook


(Worldwide Computer Products News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Online retailer Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) said on Monday that that it will make available a Kindle app for the new BlackBerry PlayBook tablet computer.

The BlackBerry PlayBook, which was announced by BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ:RIMM) (TSX:RIM) on Monday, is planned to be released in the US in early 2011.

The Kindle app for the BlackBerry PlayBook will be free and will incorporate Amazon’s WhisperSync technology so that users can pick up where they left off and seamlessly switch between devices, including the Kindle, Kindle 3G, Kindle DX, iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, Mac, PC, BlackBerry, Android-based devices and the new BlackBerry PlayBook.
