'Tieto, I-Teco set up data centre joint venture in Russia'
(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Scandinavian IT services firm Tieto and Russian IT service and consulting company I-Teco will establish a joint venture company, called TrustInfo. The joit venture will provide infrastructure and cloud services in Russia. Tieto will own 70 percent of the shares in the new joint venture company, while I-Teco will hold the remaining 30 percent. Tieto's initial investment in TrustInfo reaches EUR 20 million. TrustInfo will launch operations after the transaction receives approval from Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation. The joint venture will be based in the existing I-Teco's data centre. Additionally, Tieto will upgrade the data centre with its operations management services and technology to enable flexible IT infrastructure services delivery. Tieto's operations management services in Russia will include server operations, capacity services, connectivity and security services, UC and collaboration, as well as applications management, consolidation and optimization capabilities. TrustInfo will be a part of Tieto's cloud services network also including St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen. With Tieto's global operations, the new joint venture company will also give Russian customers access to Tieto's and I-Teco's technology partners such as Microsoft, Cisco and EMC.
