India eyes internet security

Sep 01, 2010 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Indian Government is continuing to threaten a crackdown on the encryption of online and telco data, driven by concern terrorists may be using the services. Users of BlackBerry smartphone handsets have gained an additional two months until the Research in Motion company must comply with requests to make its encrypted communications available to the authorities. Experts believe that online telephony group Skype and the web email service of Google are next in line.
