Auto-Graphics to offer library system to 13 public libraries in Kansas
Aug 20, 2010 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
Auto-Graphics, a provider of library automation solutions, has announced that both the North Central Kansas Library System and the NorthWest Kansas Library System have expanded their contracts to offer the AGent VERSO integrated library system to 13 additional public libraries throughout Kansas.
All libraries have opted to integrate AGent Search, Auto-Graphics's federated search solution which provides completely integrated simultaneous searching of all available resources including subscription content databases, bibliographic databases and the open web.
The libraries will also utilize AGent Iluminar, Auto-Graphics's user interface built using the Adobe Flex framework, which provides intuitive navigation using web cues that patrons have come to expect in a next generation web interface, the comapny said.
Participating North Central Kansas Library System (NCKLS) libraries include: Abilene Public Library; Council Grove Public Library; Hanover Public Library; Washington Public Library; Leonardville City Library; Enterprise Public Library; and Solomon Public Library.
Participating NorthWest Kansas Library System libraries include: Almena City Libraries; Pioneer Memorial Library; Oberlin City Library; Selden Public Library; Sharon Springs Public Library; and Sheridan County Library.
The NCKLS libraries have also selected the circulation-interlibrary loan link module, allowing them to fully leverage the State Library of Kansas's existing statewide interlibrary loan investment (ILL), AGent Resource Sharing, which is also provided by Auto-Graphics.
Participating NCKLS libraries will now provide a single user interface for staff and patrons to manage both ILL and integrated library system (ILS) transactions further streamlining workflow and empowering patrons to initiate and track their own ILL transactions, the company added.
Albert Flores, vice president of sales and marketing at Auto-Graphics, said: "Auto-Graphics has been a longtime partner to libraries and consortia throughout Kansas over the past twenty years. We are happy to see a continued expansion of our SaaS based ILS system in the public library community which provides improved technology while reducing operational cost."
