BRIEF: Some in Walnut Creek still without phone, Internet and cable

Jun 28, 2010 (Contra Costa Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Residents in Walnut Creek are reporting that a brief power outage at 6:30 p.m. Sunday has resulted in an outage of cable television, phone and Internet service for Astound Broadband customers that is still ongoing.

Derrald Johnson, a resident near Ygnacio Valley Road, does not use Astound himself but says his surrounding neighbors do and he has been trying to help them get answers as to why they are still without service.

He was told, by Astound customer service, that the outage knocked out power to Astound and while residential power has been restored, Astound's has not yet.

The Times is waiting for calls to be returned from both Astound and PG&E.
