Texon selects Certeon's aCelera Sync virtual appliance
May 06, 2010 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
Texon, an energy company, has selected aCelera Sync virtual appliance from Certeon, a provider of virtualized WAN optimization and application acceleration solutions, to optimize its business continuity environment.
aCelera Sync software is a virtual appliance that is supported by hypervisors such as VMware ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V. aCelera Sync can be downloaded over the network and installed in the data center and remote replication site.
Certeon said that aCelera Sync enables IT managers to consolidate the management of their remote business continuity environments and eliminate the costs and risks of off-site tape transport and storage. It is nondisruptive and allows backup and replication. Certeon's aCelera Sync also speeds remote backup.
Sean Brown, senior network administrator of Texon, said: "With aCelera Sync, we have been able to significantly increase our effective throughput without having to purchase additional bandwidth. Certeon allowed us to stay current in our replication throughout the day at a fraction of the cost."
