Apposite unveils Netropy network emulator
(Worldwide Computer Products News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WAN emulation products provider Apposite Technologies has announced it is introducing the Netropy network emulator, enabling informed decisions on application performance, infrastructure investment and network optimisation.
The company said the high-precision Netropy Emulation Engine simulates complex WAN topologies to benchmark, troubleshoot and optimise key enterprise applications, including file sharing, network storage, database applications and IP voice and video.
Netropy's Emulation Engine models dozens of concurrent WAN links up to 10Gb/s, providing a fast, cost-efficient means to assess the end-user experience prior to rollout. In addition, it allows IT teams to evaluate the effectiveness of potential performance enhancements and troubleshoot problems that arise after deployment.
Netropy's filtering and emulation features allow users to: simulate multi-site networks; benchmark multiple products or conditions; run multiple tests concurrently; isolate individual applications; as well as model advanced queuing and loss.
The product line consists of three separate appliances to meet a range of bandwidth, capacity and interface requirements: Netropy N60, a single 1Gb/s Emulation Engine with up to 15 separate WAN links; Netropy N80, four separate 1Gb/s Emulation Engines of 15 WAN links each; and Netropy 10G, two 10Gb/s and one 1Gb/s Emulation Engines.
The network emulators begin shipping 1 May 2010. Prices start at USD8,000 and vary with model and bandwidth.
