Take a guess: How many jelly beans are in this jar?Apr 03, 2010 (St. Cloud Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The ham is in the oven. The tulips are in the vases. The Easter Bunny hid the eggs. And everyone is dressed in his or her best. Gather the family around and enter the St. Cloud Times' Jelly Bean Contest. Grab the calculator and start guessing. Here's your sweet mission: Try to guess the number of jelly beans in the container. The closest guess will win two movie passes. For those feeling really adventurous, try your problem-solving abilities with eight other quandaries. These are for extra credit. Feel free to submit your guesses. They will not be used to determine the winner unless there is a tie. Here are clues to get you started. Each jelly bean is about a half-inch long. They are in a one-gallon container. The 7-ounce, crispy chocolate bunny in the middle is meant to make it just a bit more difficult. The bunny is 6 1/2 inches tall. All ages are eligible to compete. Each person is allowed only one guess, so make yours count. Once you have your guess, e-mail it to [email protected]. You must include your full name, age, hometown and daytime telephone number. Entries without the requested information will not be considered. Hurry, you have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to submit your answers. The winner and answers will be published in the April 11 Life section.
