PoINT releases new SDK versions for Blu-ray and CD/DVD recording; New SDK versions fulfil compliance requirements in the professional storage environment and are similarly suitable for applications with requirements for audio/video recording

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Siegen, Germany- The new versions of the software development kits (SDK) of PoINT Software & Systems GmbH are compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. They support all known CD/DVD formats as well as all common Blu-ray drives and media formats.

The PoINT SDKs consist of "PoINT Toolkits for Optical Storage", which offers a seamless integration of storage devices into an application without high programming efforts and "PoINT CD/DVD/BD Audio/Video SDK", a recording engine providing the creation of CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs with data, audio and video contents. Thus they fulfil compliance requirements in the professional storage environment and are similarly suitable for applications with requirements for audio/video recording. Especially for the Blu-ray technology professional data recording with a high level of data security and reliability is offered by supporting the Blu-ray defect management. The new toolkits implement all UDF versions besides the established ISO9660 and Jolietformats which secures high media compatibility.

The recording engine of the SDKs supports creation of CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs with data, audio and video contents according to the known standards and specifications. For this reason, it relieves software developers of time-consuming and complex device driver and file system development. The toolkits include both 32 bit and 64 bit modules and support - besides Windows - also Linux and Unix operating systems.
