Virage Logic announces joint marketing agreement with ConexantJan 12, 2010 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Virage Logic, a provider of semiconductor intellectual property and services, has announced a joint marketing agreement with Conexant Systems, a provider of solutions for imaging, audio, embedded-modem and video surveillance applications. Under the terms of the agreement, Virage Logic will offer its Sonic Focus suite of audio enrichment software on the Conexant codecs sold to PC manufacturers. Conexant is currently providing audio codecs running Sonic Focus audio software to PC original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Virage Logic said that the Sonic Focus audio intellectual property (IP) is part of its integrated 'Sound-to-Silicon' solutions including high performance and low power processor IP, development tools, codecs and operating systems. By combining Conexant's audio codecs with the Virage Logic Sonic Focus audio enhancement technologies, OEM customers can deliver a compelling listening experience on a range of PC offerings, Virage Logic added. Michael Franzi, vice president and general manager of the Sonic Focus audio IP solutions at Virage Logic, said: "Building on our proven audio experience and technologies, our latest Sonic Focus IP solutions enable the Conexant codecs to deliver an immersive audio experience for PC OEMs looking to differentiate their next generation of consumer products in the market.
