Level 3 to provide IP services in US for GemNet

Dec 18, 2009 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Provider of fibre-based communications services Level 3 Communications Inc (Nasdaq:LVLT) has entered into an agreement with GemNet LLC, a Mongolian telecommunications and Internet wholesale provider.

Under the five-year agreement announced on Thursday, financial details of which were not known, Level 3 will deliver high-speed Internet Protocol (IP) services in the US to support GemNet's broad customer base of Mongolian Internet service providers (ISPs).

The Level 3 network provides a key component of the trans-continental network infrastructure for GemNet.
