ValuSource and MGMA Release 2009 Interactive Survey CDs
Nov 21, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
ValuSource Software, a provider of medical practice benchmarking software, and Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), announced the release of two interactive CDs containing the 2009 editions of the MGMA Physician Compensation and Production Survey Report and the MGMA Cost Survey.
In a release, the group noted that with updated data and tools, including the ability to import practice data directly into the Cost Survey Practice Performance Report, practices can perform peer-group benchmarks in a fraction of the time it used to take.
"MGMA delivers the gold standard data for medical practice benchmarking," said David Fein, ValuSource CEO, "and the new Cost Survey Excel import tool makes it easier than ever for practices to very quickly perform comprehensive cost benchmarks and quickly identify areas of performance that are substandard."
The group noted that since 1997, ValuSource has designed MGMA Interactive Survey software to provide substantially more data, benchmarking tools and now dashboards. By identifying areas where practices differ from MGMA norms, both practices and consultants can use real world data to measure and demonstrate the ways in which their practices excel, and target areas for improvement internally. Both CDs deliver more than one hundred times the data than available in printed reports, and offer new regional information by state, and allow easy export to Excel for custom analysis and charting.
"Physicians who want to keep incomes steady know it's vital to pay close attention to the bottom line, and regularly benchmark their own practice and compensation level against peers'," said William F. Jessee, M.D., FACMPE, MGMA president and CEO. "With physician payment rates lagging behind inflation, physician practices need as many tools as possible to maintain their incomes," he added, "ValuSource has shown a remarkable ability to translate MGMA data, culled from the widest sample of physician practices and refined into the most relevant measures, into friendly, easy-to-understand products that any physician practice can use and gain value from."
Both the 2009 MGMA Physicians Compensation and Production CD and the MGMA Cost Survey use numbers collected in 2008, and both CDs are available from ValuSource.
