BATS Exchange Expands Multicast Datafeed Access with TNS

Multicast PITCH allows BATS' members and market data recipients to more easily redistribute the data within their own networks. The datafeed provides up to a 50% reduction in latency with 20% fewer events than the Exchange's PITCH feed, a point-to-point depth-of-book market data feed.

BATS Exchange offers Multicast PITCH free of charge to members and market data vendors, exclusive of connection charges.

"We are pleased that more BATS users can now enjoy the benefits of taking the fast, efficient Multicast PITCH feed through TNS' low latency extranet," said Chris Isaacson, Chief Operating Officer of BATS Exchange. "Since releasing Multicast PITCH earlier this year, we have received tremendously positive feedback from members and market data vendors, and we will continue to expand accessibility to the feed with more providers like TNS." Alex Walker, Senior Vice President and General Manager for TNS' Financial Services Division, said: "We are delighted to be providing financial market participants with fast, secure and reliable access to BATS new Multicast PITCH feed. BATS boasts a strong portfolio of highly targeted services and our mission-critical low latency connectivity will play a key role in ensuring its clients can receive timely market data information. We expect to see a lot of interest in Multicast PITCH from the global financial community of interest connected to our Secure Trading Extranet." Multicast PITCH includes value-added functionality, such as BATS' proprietary "Spin Server" that allows users to reconnect to Multicast PITCH intraday and quickly build a snapshot of the state of the electronic order book without having to replay every message of the day.

The complete Multicast PITCH specification is available on the BATS Exchange web site at http://www.batstrading.com/resources/membership/BATS_MC_PITCH_Specification.pdf.
