Sikorsky selects Ceva to provide transport services for helicopter parts

Nov 05, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Sikorsky Aircraft, a subsidiary of United Technologies, has selected Ceva Logistics to provide transport services for its helicopter parts.

Sikorsky has selected Ceva to transport the first S-70i Black Hawk helicopter cockpit to be assembled at its facility, PZL Mielec, in Poland. The shipment originated in Stratford, Connecticut in the US.

Ceva's operational team based in New York, Paris and Warsaw reportedly worked together to move this sensitive load through New York and Paris airports.

As part of the service, Ceva has reportedly ensured verification of the offloading process and the subsequent specialist loading of the European road vehicle, as well as assisting with the necessary T1 bond customs clearance to move the cockpit to Poland.

Adam Chazanow, managing director of Ceva in Poland, said: "Ceva is delighted to have been entrusted with Sikorsky's shipments. We look forward to expanding our first-class service to further clients and would like to thank Sikorsky for their vote of confidence in us." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
