Dell acquires over 90% of Perot Systems

(EquityBites Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Computer maker Dell Inc (NASDAQ:DELL) reported on Tuesday that it has completed its tender offer for Perot Systems Corporation (NYSE:PER).

As a result of the tenders and Dell's exercise of its top-up option the company will own more than 90% of the outstanding shares of Perot Systems, a provider of IT services and business solutions.

Dell announced in October that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Perot Systems for USD3.9bn in cash.

The acquisition has led to the creation of a new business unit called Dell Services, led by Perot Systems' CEO Peter Altabef who will report to Dell's chairman and CEO Michael Dell.

Dell Services will offer hosting, consulting, applications and business-process outsourcing, expanding Dell's existing managed and modular services.

Dell expects its acquisition of Perot Systems to be accretive to GAAP earnings in fiscal 2012.
