'Motorola introduces Milestone Android phone in Europe'

(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Motorola has introduced the Milestone, the European version of its Droid mobile handset just launched in the US. An Android 2.0 powered handset, the Milestone is a Qwerty slider with 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, pinch and zoom and double-tap features. The device also features stereo Bluetooth, Motorola's CrystalTalk Plus application, GPS and MotoNav turn-by-turn navigation, and access to thousands of apps and widgets from the Android Market. A suite of Google applications including Google Maps with Latitude, Google Mail and YouTube are integrated onto the device. The Motorola Media Link and Motorola Phone Portal allow the user to manage and share media content across a desktop, the phone and the web. The Milestone device will initially be available in Italy and Germany, and further availability will be announced as Motorola continues to expand its Android-based portfolio around the world. In Germany, the Milestone will be sold by O2 Germany, Vodafone Germany and the Phone House. The website of O2 claims that the phone will be available from 9 November and offers customers the possibility to register their interest.
