International Datacasting Corporation Announces First Orders for Newly Acquired Tiernan Video and Audio Products

(Market Wire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/24/09 -- International Datacasting Corporation, (TSX: IDC) a global leader in providing advanced solutions for the distribution of broadband multimedia content, announced today that it has received orders valued at over $700,000 USD for its newly acquired Tiernan video and audio lines of products.

The orders, for customers in Vietnam, Africa, and India include Tiernan's MPEG-2/MPEG-4 High Definition, (HD), and Standard Definition, (SD), encoders with paired decoders and digital audio products: - Tiernan's products have been selected for a major digital satellite news gathering project (DSNG) in Vietnam. Using Tiernan's MPEG-2/MPEG-4 HD/SD encoders, the customer, will be able to broadcast HD and SD simultaneously, using a very unique and compact DSNG design for the Third Asian Indoor Games, taking place in Hanoi, Vietnam later this fall.

- In Nigeria, Tiernan's AVC4000-HD Professional High Definition AVC Encoders and HMR Multi-format Professional Decoders will be used for the distribution of MPEG-4 HD video from multiple locations across the country. Each site will be able to broadcast digital MPEG-2/MPEG-4 video to any of the other sites in the network and re-distribute that video signal to surrounding locations.

- Tiernan's ABR202A Professional Audio Broadcast Receivers are being deployed for the continued expansion of the All India Radio network, which provides a variety of programming throughout India and is one of world's largest radio networks.

"We are pleased to receive these first orders for our new Tiernan product lines. The integration of our sales and manufacturing teams is going well and has allowed us to be able to maintain momentum and continue business as usual," said Ron Clifton, IDC President and CEO. "The ongoing feedback we have received from our international customers and distributors, many of whom we met at the IBC trade show last week, has been positive and they are excited by the combined strength of the IDC and Tiernan product lines. These early orders confirm the expected increase in our total addressable market, the expansion of our regional sales coverage and the diversity of our applications," he continued.
