Andrea Electronics Stereo Array Microphone Deployed in HP Notebooks

Andrea said that Pure Audio technology provides very high quality audio for clearer, more intelligible conversations when making Internet phone calls, for video and web teleconferencing or other communication services over a broadband connection.

Andrea stated that its Pure Audio technology enhances the microphone audio quality on HP Pavilion Mobile notebooks, HP EliteBook notebooks, and HP TouchSmart PCs. The addition of Pure Audio allows customers to access audio capabilities beyond the norm for PCs and facilitates clearer sound over VoIP. Active noise reduction, echo cancellation and stereo microphone array beam forming technology provides a better user experience with more intelligible audio when using Skype and other VoIP applications despite noisy environments, according to the company.

"Andrea Electronics is working with HP to improve sound quality in PCs," said Douglas Andrea, CEO of Andrea Electronics. "With the integration of our Pure Audio technology directly into HP PCs, customers now have professional audio capabilities as a standard feature in a mobile notebook. Full duplex voice communications provide clear conversations without annoying delays or echo, and despite loud background noise -- all without requiring any additional equipment or the need to connect any wires." Andrea Electronics' Stereo Array Microphone technology is pre-loaded into the HP EliteBook, Pavilion notebooks and TouchSmart PC screen. Pure Audio software is pre-loaded on the computers and is integrated with audio beam forming technology to deliver far clearer audio than previously available in PCs, Andrea said.
