'Spain unveils Robinson List service to fight commercial spam'

Jul 07, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- The Spanish Agency for Data Protection (AEPD) has teamed up with the Federation of Electronic Commerce and Direct Marketing (FECEMD) to launch a MPS list, also known as the Robinson List service, on the local market. The service enables users to opt-out and stop receiving unwanted marketing messages. The ad exclusion registry allows users to select the medium or media through which they do not want to receive advertising messages AcaeaEURoe including mail, telephone, email, SMS or MMS AcaeaEURoe from unknown companies and organizations. The service also enables citizens to select additional entities with which they had or maintain a contractual relationship and from which they refuse to receive commercial calls and messages to their fixed or mobile phones.

Customers can register free of charge for the Robinson List service at the listarobinson website. Service administrators, advertisers and data processing service providers have free access to the information contained in the Robinson List registry.
