Jul 03, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
Ciber, a system integration consultancy and outsourcing company, has won a 20-month contract with Ohio University to develop new student information system.
Ciber has said that its ERP Higher Education Practice and Global Enterprise Integration Practice are working with Ohio University to create a new student information system (SIS).
Through its collaboration with Ciber, the university is replacing its existing SIS with the full intention of improving the delivery of services to its students, faculty and staff through workflow, service oriented architecture (SOA) and web-enabled services, according to Ciber.
Ciber has also said that this project includes the implementation of the latest Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions System, Data Privacy Shield and a SOA component and integration build on Red Lantern, CRM, and the rollout of an identity management solution.
Brice Bible, chief information officer of Ohio University, said: "Ohio University is partnering with Ciber to significantly change how technology aids in the delivery of services to students and faculty. Ciber's expertise with complex higher education projects made them well equipped to assist us with this extensive transformation."
