Having a world-class executive like Allan onboard will support delivery of technology-leading DataGuise solutions that address pressing customer concerns over corporate governance, risk and compliance, said Manmeet Singh, CEO of DataGuise. While our recently released discovery and masking suite of products for identifying and protecting sensitive information expands opportunities for the company, equally important is the leadership team behind it and we are pleased to have Allan join the team.

Most recently, Thompson was vice president of business development in the data protection unit of McAfee (News - Alert), Inc. McAfee acquired Data Loss Prevention (DLP) vendor Reconnex Corporation in August, 2008 where Allan was a Reconnex executive team member instrumental in the acquisition. Prior to McAfee, he was the senior vice president of enterprise sales and business development for Tenebril, Inc. a leading anti-spyware software company. Before Tenebril, Thompson was the president and CEO of Senforce Technologies, Inc. At Senforce, the company received the Visionary Award from Gartner for the personal firewall/endpoint software security sector. Senforce was later sold to Novell (News - Alert) Corporations ZENworks endpoint security division.

Thompson has been integral in helping companies surpass business objectives, having worked with organizations through successful acquisitions, IPOs and impressive corporate growth. Prior to Senforce, he was the vice president of business development for IntruVert Networks, a pioneer of intrusion prevention network appliances which was acquired under Thompsons guidance by McAfee for $100 million in cash. Before IntruVert Networks, he was senior vice president of global alliances and marketing at Trend Micro (News - Alert) where he was responsible for all global partnerships, channels and integrated worldwide marketing strategy. While at Trend Micro, Thompson leveraged partnerships and channels to grow sales 300% year-over-year both before and after the companys Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 1998.

Four out of the last five security companies that Thompson held executive posts at have been Gartner (News - Alert) Visionary or Magic Quadrant leaders. Thompson will leverage this experience to achieve significant successes for DataGuise as the company moves forward in becoming the recognized leader in protecting structured and unstructured data within and outside the production network. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA (News - Alert).

DataGuise is bringing real advances in how information is safeguarded - not only from external, but from insider threats where there is significant risk in non-production development, testing and training environments, stated Thompson. The company brings thorough protection and ease-of-use that is unmatched in the industry and I look forward to helping organizations benefit from these advantages.

Leadership Through Innovation The DataGuise Difference Leading industry analysts and corporations understand the challenges of creating ideal test environments as organizations seek production scale and complexity when creating and managing internal software development processes. Additionally, the DataGuise product suite de-identifies sensitive data in non-production, production and endpoint environments, consistently protecting both structured and unstructured data in heterogeneous environments and across a variety of business applications. Data de-identification is also known as data masking, data sanitization, data leakage, data scrubbing, data scrambling, and data obfuscation. Since its inception, DataGuise has demonstrated technology excellence and product leadership with data masking products that outperform alternatives with simple yet comprehensive solutions.

Securing Sensitive Data with DataGuise The DataGuise solution suite enables enterprises to discover sensitive data and mask sensitive production and non-production information used for testing and QA purposes. DataGuise facilitates safe sharing with application development and QA groups as well as third parties such as offshore developers. Because the consequences of failing to comply with applicable laws and regulations can be staggering, the DataGuise portfolio of solutions is a must-have for all enterprises.
