SmarTrend(R) News Watch: Federal Judge Rules In Favor of Dell over IBM

Jun 26, 2009 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) -- A federal judged ruled Friday in favor of David Johnson and Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) over IBM (NYSE:IBM). David Johnson was a merger and acquisition executive for IBM (NYSE:IBM) for 27 before resigning and taking a position at Dell (NASDAQ:DELL). The court rejected IBM's request for a preliminary injunction against David Johnson. IBM claimed that he had violated a noncompete agreement by taking a job at Dell because he possessed secrets that he could use to help Dell. IBM said it plans to appeal the latest ruling.
