'Lycamobile, Vectone threatened with shutdown in Norway'

Mar 18, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- The around 10,000 customers of MVNOs Lycamobile and Vectone in Norway have been told to switch service providers by communications regulator NPT. The regulator authorised Telenor to shut down wholesale services from 13 March to Barablu, the holding company for the MVNOs, after Barablu breached payment obligations to Telenor. The NPT said in a statement that it had repeatedly warned Barablu to improve its business practices, and this was the first time it had warned consumers to leave an operator. On 13 March, the regulator said Barablu and Telenor had reached a preliminary agreement on maintaining services. Lycamobile's Norwegian website said the company is continuing services as normal and refers customers to the NPT website for more information.
