BUUUZ Introduces Social News Service Where Common Interests Link Users

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Jan 21, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --
Free Beta Service Unveiled Today at www.BUUUZ.com
BUUUZ today announced the launch of BUUUZ.com, the world's first social web service to connect users with similar interests rather than existing friendships. The BUUUZ social news experience is available today in beta at www.BUUUZ.com.

The BUUUZ service allows members to create virtual "islands" based on subjects of interest that are populated by information from select RSS feeds and community discussion. Members can create an "island" for a topic by picking a few keywords that best describe an interest they have. For instance, the Super Bowl is right around the corner and if you are a Pittsburg Steelers or an Arizona Cardinals fan you can use your team as an island keyword to be alerted about the stories and discussions mentioning them.

Community discussion is facilitated through "message bottles" where questions can be asked and comments made around any topic. Other members who have matching interests then receive the color-coded message bottles and have the ability to respond to the community. Yellow bottles come from RSS feeds, green bottles contain public messages and red bottles are private notes passed between two users.

In less than a minute, BUUUZ members can utilize the sleek and fun interface to join a community that encourages communication and conversation. BUUUZ's unique approach to social networking links like-minded individuals and provides a secure platform to share stories, anecdotes and expertise.

"There are 6 billion people on this planet and many of those people share interests and hobbies," said Alain Villenave, CEO of BUUUZ. "Up until this point, social networking has allowed us to communicate with or friends and keep in touch but the experience can become stale. BUUUZ brings new communities of people together safely to share unique information, knowledge and experiences without the pressure of advertising or worrying about privacy."
